Shock Doctor has entered into a partnership with Odell Beckham Jr. for the launch of the new Interchange Lip Guard. Traded from the New York Giants to the lowly Cleveland Browns this year, Beckham Jr. joins Shock Doctor on a multi-year agreement as its global football ambassador. “I’m excited to partner with a company that takes performance as seriously as I do,” Beckham says. “Big things coming soon—including my own designs.”

Cliff Keen Athletic has entered into an official supplier and marketing agreement with Battlefields2Ballfields (B2B), an organization founded by former NFL official and current Fox NFL and College Football rules analyst Mike Pereira. Battlefields2Ballfields is an organization that provides veterans and active duty military an opportunity to integrate back into their communities through officiating scholarships.

The NFHS is allowing high school baseball players to use cheek or jaw protectors – such as Markwort’s C-Flap, attached to batting helmets during the 2019 season. NFHS has taken the position that once a head baseball coach verifies his team is legally and properly equipped, and all other criteria to start a game have been met, then play will begin. NFHS is not taking the role of determining the legitimacy of a cheek or jaw protector that has been attached to a batting helmet.

BSN Sports recently acquired three more independent team dealers. Most recently, BSN acquired Legacy Team Sales, based in Ocala, FL.  Founded in 1958 as an outdoor sporting goods store, Legacy Team Sales has grown into one of the largest distributors of team sports apparel and equipment in central Florida. Previously BSN had acquired T&T Sportsman’s Shop, based in Charleston, SC.  T&T Sportsman’s Shop has been serving team sports customers in the Low Country area of South Carolina for more than 70 years, and Rochester-NY based Valenti Sports, which has been serving the Rochester market since 1993.

In personnel moves, Schuylkill Valley Sports has added Doug Eastman to its Team & Group Sales division in the Stroudsburg area. Russell Hiler has been named national sales manager at Dalco Athletics, responsible for supporting its independent sales reps nationwide.

Axe Bat and Boise State University have entered into a multiyear training and development collaboration that makes Axe Bat the exclusive swing partner of the Broncos’ newly revived baseball program. Boise State recently reinstated baseball as a varsity sport and will begin playing games in 2020 for the first time in 40 years.
